COMMUNITY CONNECTION SUPPORTING FAMILIES IN NEED

FEB 2022 | Vol.3 | Week 1

SAFETY PROGRAMS

Car Seat Safety Clinics Want to learn how to install your child’s car safety seat? Want to know when your child is ready to move on to the next seat or graduate from their booster seat? Our trained car seat technician can help! Car seat installation appointments last about 30 minutes each. Please contact our office at (503) 623-4618 for an appointment. Child passenger safety technicians will check your child’s seat for:

  • Correct installation

  • Recalls and damage

  • Best fit for weight, height, and age

PLEASE NOTE:

  • The child who uses the seat must be present unless the baby is not yet born.

  • The vehicle in which the child travels must be brought to the car seat check.

  • Parents or guardians will be taught to correctly install and use the car seat.

Come with any questions you have and leave with peace of mind! Car Seat Assistance Program We may be able to help you purchase a low-cost car seat thanks to community partnerships with local law enforcement, local businesses, Oregon State Community Credit Union, and other generous private donors. Eligibility:

  • Must be a client of Bambinos residing in Polk County.

  • Our car seats are available one per family on a first-come, first-served basis.

Exclusions: Unfortunately, replacements cannot be given. In addition, we cannot provide car seats to extended families or childcare providers. Deposit: A $15 cash non-refundable deposit must be paid in advance to Bambinos, OR in order to receive a car seat. You will be given a receipt to bring, as well as an appointment to our next car seat clinic where you will obtain the new seat. Availability: Seats will be available by appointment and given out only during the car seat check-up events. These are held on the first Thursday of every month in 30-minute increments from 4pm to 7pm. Other program information:

  • Seats are only provided to parents or legal guardians, who must be present to obtain the seat.

  • Only one seat per family.

  • The child receiving the seat must be present unless the baby is not yet born.

  • The vehicle in which the child travels must be brought to the car seat check.

  • Parents or guardians will be taught to correctly install and use the car seat.

Safety Items Program If you need help keeping your little ones safe, we’re here for you! Various safety items such as safety gates, outlet plugs, bike helmets, and door locks are available upon request. Warm regards, Glenda J. Dunaway Executive Director

AMAZON SHOPPING?

Also, a friendly reminder with Christmas shopping upon us...there’s another easy way for you to help! Simply access your Amazon account by shopping through Smile.Amazon.com when doing your normal purchasing. All your account information will stay the same, but Amazon agrees to put 0.5% of your purchase amount towards the charity of your choice. Just select Bambinos Or in the upper left hand corner to make us the charity of choice. It's that easy.

Another great way to help us while shopping on Amazon is to just add a pack of diapers and/or wipes to any order and have it shipped to us! We appreciate any way that help is given.

When we as the Bambinos board lists the people and things we're most thankful for this Thanksgiving season, you're on our list! Learn More

HELP SUPPORT BAMBINOS We are always in need of people who can pledge to send us a monthly gift that we can put toward our expenses. We call these wonderful people "Bambinos Builders." A pledge as little as $5 per month can still make a big difference.
